THE recently completed PHP 11.92 million Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) in Barangay San Isidro, MacArthur, now plays a vital role in enhancing mobility and connectivity for the local community. The road serves as a crucial link, providing better access to essential services such as healthcare facilities, schools, and employment opportunities.

According to District Engineer Leo Edward Oppura, the completed project has significantly benefited farmers, especially during the rainy season, as they no longer have to endure muddy and bumpy roads. Additionally, the improved road has reduced road dust, which was previously a concern on unpaved dirt roads.

The upgraded road has also facilitated faster transportation and lower hauling costs for agricultural produce, including rice grains and root crops, leading to increased income for local farmers. Moreover, the improved accessibility has made it easier for villagers to access basic government and healthcare services, while students now have better access to education in the town proper.

The project involved the construction of 992 linear meters of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) with a width of 5 meters. It was implemented in convergence with the CY 2023 Department of Agriculture (DA) program. | DPWH Region 8
